O God, you led your Holy Apostles to identify suitable candidates from whom they selected Matthias to be the 12th of their number: Grant that your Church, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, may choose suitable persons from among whom our diocese will select another heir of the apostles' ministry, who will be our 11th bishop; through Him who is the Shepherd and bishop of our souls, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
