Moab
The Church of St. Francis was founded by groups with Anglican ties to Canada and South Africa that moved here after an enormous uranium deposit was discovered in 1952. As tourism replaced mining as the foundation of Moab’s economy, our parish became a vital part of the region’s social and religious fabric. The diocese, under the auspices of its Project Jubilee, remodeled St. Francis in 2006.
The Mission Church of San Francisco formally began its Latino ministry in 2004. And four years later the diocese approved St. Dismus, an Episcopal worshiping community within the San Juan Correctional Facility.
