Moab
The Misión de San Francisco began as an outreach program of The Episcopal Church of St. Francis in the fall of 1999. Our ministries and congregation touch the local community deeply. For example, we are a center for the celebration of feasts of the Christian calendar and, in particular, honoring the customs and traditions of our mostly Mexican parishioners.
Our parish has also been active in advocacy and pastoral care within the Latino community in Moab and Grand County, assisting with interpretation and translation services with employers, medical care providers, schools, service providers, and other agencies.
As an outgrowth of this parish-based ministry, the Moab Valley Multicultural Center, a non-profit organization, was incorporated in 2007 to provide a number of services, classes, and opportunities that enrich the lives of Latinos and Native Americans.
Having created a vital faith community, we are working to grow our membership and develop educational programs and social activities.
